Google has launched its own “Goggles” from its very own stable… Whatz my name? Whatz my name? My name is Google Glass!!! It may not be the mystical third eye! But it has arrived and it is here to stay! It’s going to transform the way we “see” things!! Yes, literally it follows WYSIWYG … What You See Is What You Get.
You just need to wear the Glass, switch on the device, and tell what you would like to do: click a picture, take a video, ask for direction, etc. Due to man’s ingenuity, what was developed as a social media tool has found ready application in a completely different field: operation theatre. It helps novice surgeons to get expert advice from specialists around the world and it relays real-time video to the patient’s relatives and medical students.
Incidentally Dr Rajkumar, a famous gastroenterologist based in Chennai, who used the Google Glass for the first time in India, in one of his interviews in a television channel a decade ago mentioned that “To love, you need a lover; to live, you need a liver” as a parting note!
Catch you with a next one soon!
