P. Vidhyasagar Arya, the author, “spins” (as he can’t face “pace”!) stories on everyday life that otherwise go unnoticed with a dash (and splash) of humour, which only he can understand! He claims to maintain his sanity (and sometimes of the readers) through his so-called creations! Before 2009, his claim to fame was occasional cameo roles in the Letters to the Editor column and caption contest in The Hindu, for which he would be overjoyed as if he had won a Nobel Prize for Literature!

He discovered (Does he invent?) that he has a penchant for writing (rather typing) journey around a fine bright mid-day (as his shift started at that time) in September 2009 when one of his supervisors asked him to take up a team activity… bordering on writing. He is still unsure why his manager chose him over others in the team. What started as a spark spread like wildfire, engulfing his entire brain with “Eureka moments” (without a bathtub!) and puns while awake, especially during the cab travel from office to home, or during REM sleep. He seems to revel in writing reams and reams of stories, giving no respite to the hapless readers! Though the author is “armed” with a PhD, he lacked “ammunition” in his arsenal; however, writing gave him an opportunity to unleash “missiles” and “torpedoes” to the regret of his readers. The first readers of his blogs have been his parents, who had no option but to “read along the dotted lines”. His wife did not take the bait and he can’t even drag the horse to the river!

Most of these blogs have been “logged in” between 2009 and 2017, now “dusted” (and updated a little) for the benefit of a wider audience (if he finds any?), and may find resonance even now (as if these are timeless Panchatantra classics). These blogs will keep his thoughts (as if he were Mahatma!) alive for posterity, if he renews the website subscription! The idea of creating the website was due to the constant urging of Mr. Vidyadar Durgekar, a man donning multiple hats – bilingual poet and writer, and an administrator!

The name of the blogsite viVIDHmatters is a pun on the word “vivid” (usually associated with imagination) and the 4 starting letters of his name, as “vivid imagination matters” to the author! Does “vividmatter” to you?
